- Sirach 24 – While reading True Devotion by St. Louis de Montfort I realized that my Bible’s version of that chapter differs from Vulgate and Septuagint and it is especially crucial for allegorically/prophetically Marian texts which are not included in the modern translation. I need to investigate this more closely.
- Collationes in Hexaemeron by St. Bonaventure in French – Which contains a wonderful insight on “why is there so little about Mary in the Bible?” (13th conference, 20) – the mystery of Mary is allegorically written about in the whole Scripture which is a more elevated way of speaking about her than to produce a single treatise concerning her. I’m looking forward to read the whole thing.
- Bonaventure (CWS): The Soul’s Journey into God, The Tree of Life, The Life of St. Francis – Being greatly inspired by the above text by Bonaventure I decided to learn more and I’m waiting for this book to arrive in a couple of days.
- “Blessed is she who believed”: Mary’s Faith and the Form of Christian Existence by Antonio Lopez [PDF]
- Bl. John Duns Scotus on the Absolute Primacy of Christ – I was reading that short summary to get better grasp of the idea in light of the joint predestination of Jesus and Mary.
- Epiphany: A Theological Introduction to Catholicism by Aidan Nichols O.P. – The entire book by the renowned British theologian available online.
- Famous letter of Pope St. Pius IX to Eastern Patriarch and their response
- Official Relatio of Bishop Vincent Ferrer Gasser delivered at the First Vatican Council which explains the meaning and significance of the dogma of the infallibility of the pope. Very enlightening and a must read for everyone who would like to speak about the matter competently.
- The true meaning of “active participation” from Fr. Z’s blog – As I was writing recently an article about the apocalyptic nature of the liturgy and active participation in that context, I stumbled upon this wonderful post on Fr. Z’s blog which elaborates on the meaning of the phrase in Church’s teaching in the early 20th century. Hint: it’s more of an active receptivity than what you might imagine.
